Competition ‘New Bauhaus Museum Weimar’

August 3, 2012 News

The new Bauhaus Museum in Weimar is designed as a sculptural building which – similar to Bauhaus teaching, impact and societal permeation – integrates and communicates with its location on many levels.

The new Bauhaus Museum is an open, welcoming building. Its unique urban design feature is a ramp-like, publicly accessible green-roof promenade that leads to a viewing platform which allows a great view over the rooftops of Weimar and the nearby parks. Historical references to Bauhaus-relevant locations in Weimar can be visually experienced from this path and the viewing-platform.
